††† † † † † † † † † † † † ††
PLAN: The PLAN is taken in the 10th grade† in March and will, again, give you an idea of how well you will do on the ACT Test.
ACT: The ACT is taken in March of studentís Junior year and is required for the entire State of Michigan and graduation. This is the main college entrance exam that students in Michigan take.
WorkKeys: This test is part of the Michigan Merit Exam and is required by the State and for graduation. It is taken in March.†
MME (Michigan Merit Exam): Test that includes ACT, WorkKeys, and Michigan Math, Science, and Social Studies Sections. The test takes place over 3 consecutive days in March. All students are required to take this exam as Juniors or seniors
AP (Advanced Placement) Exams: Advanced Placement Exams are for students that want to excel and possibly earn college credit in a particular subject area. Students can take the class if offered by GLHS and the exam or just attempt the exam.†
PSAT: The Pre-SAT is a test taken (if they sign up by September!) in October of a studentís junior year. This test can determine National Merit† Scholarship finalist, and also help students see how well they may do on the SAT.
SAT: Another test in addition to the ACT that tests your college readiness. Students are not required to take this exam, but can.
SAT Subject Tests: Another Test that students can take to enhance their high school credentials when applying to colleges.
