Driver Education Classes Announced
ABC Training and Testing has announced their Segment I and Segment II classes being held at Grass Lake this fall. The first meeting is with parents on September 15 in GLHS Room 128. Go toáhttp://abctrainingandtesting.com/cal_grasslake.htmáfor the schedule and contact information.
School District Phone Prefix Has Changed. Now 867, not 522.
Our school district has recently changed phone service providers. With this change comes a change in our phone exchange. When calling any of our school district phones, instead of using the prefix of 522, please now use 867. Our area code and last four digits remain the same, but you must now use 867 instead of 522.
Morgan and Jeremiah Have Success @ IChallengeU
Congratulations to Grass Lake High School students Morgan Bell and Jeremiah Brandenburg for their success at the IChallengeU Forensics Competition held this week. Six teams participated. Morgan was part of the first place team, while Jeremiah was part of the second place team. Both students received one or more scholarships for their efforts. 2016 Project Safe Graduation a Success

SAT Test Prep Sessions Scheduled for 2016-2017 School Year
For our students preparing to take the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) in the future, Sylvan Learning Centers will be providing test preparation sessions at Grass Lake High School on Saturday, October 22, and Saturday, January 28, from 8 AM to 1 PM. Registration forms will be made available approximately four weeks in advance of the sessions.
GLHS Among Top Vocabulary Schools in Michigan
Vocabulary.comácombines the world's smartest dictionary with an adaptive learning game that allows students to learn new words and includes a count of new words learned per school. GLHS English teacher Amy Janz reports that she has received an email fromávocabulary.comáthat Grass Lake High School ranked as the runner up for the most words mastered for May in Michigan, while being ranked third in April. At that point our students were 1,575 words behind first place. The competition will continue until the end of the school year. We are very proud of our students.
2016 GLHS Scholar Athletes Recognized
Congratulations to our 2016 Cascades Conference Scholar Athletes Jessica Sherwood, Madeline Brunt, Hunter Satterthwaite, Brandon Schulze. They were recognized at the annual awards dinner at the Davis Banquet and Convention Center on Thursday, May 5. Well done!!
The criteria for qualification to receive this award include:

o 3.4 GPA
o 2 Sports for at least 3 years
o 2 Varsity Sports for Senior Year
o No violations of the Athletic Code of Conduct
2016 GLHS Prom a Success
Our Grass Lake High School Juniors prepared a successful Prom for our students held on a rainy Saturday, April 30, at the Ella Sharp Museum. Thank you to Dale Fisher for opening up his facilities for photo opportunities in advance of the event that allowed friends to gather in a dry location. Congratulations to Colin Porter and Molly Beal for being named Prom King and Queen. (see more)
GLHS Robo Warriors Find Success at Skyline
Congratulations to our Grass Lake High School Robo Warriors who won the Ann Arbor Skyline First Robotics competition Creativity Award. They also made it all the way through qualifying rounds to the semi finals.
